Please join us at the chapter office on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 8:30 am - 10:30 am, for a presentation on Heat Exhaustion in the Construction Industry. This important topic impacts the construction industry, especially during the summer months, and will be presented with time for your questions, too! Dr. Alexander will focus on the following:
1. Share the signs and symptoms of heat illness
2. Learn about behaviors and the underlying physiology that make certain workers more vulnerable to
3. Discuss how people adapt to work in the heat strategies to optimize that adaptation

Dr. Lacy M. Alexander, Associate Professor of Kinesiology at Penn State. She teaches an advanced course in Environmental Physiology which includes biophysics of heat exchange (heat balance equations) and heat stress physiology and pathophysiology.
