Craft Training Series: Fundamental Carpentry Session 3 - Flooring Framing Systems - DAY 3

This three day course will describe the layout and construction procedures for floor systems, including how to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and how to identify different types of framing systems, floor system components and floor system materials. It also covers how to estimate the amount of materials needed for a floor assembly and on some common alternative floor systems. The course includes theory, hands-on instruction and testing of skills. A brief overview of proper use and operations of hand and power tools used in construction today will be included.
Instructor: Bill Weaver, NCCER certified instructor, retired CTE carpentry instructor
Tools required by student: Day 1 - no tools needed. Day 2 & 3 - PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection), construction master calculator, 20 oz. framing hammer, 25' tape, speed square, chalk line, utility knife, and cat's paw.
